Choose the correct server environment

LicenseCage lists cPanel for virtual servers separately from cPanel for dedicated machines. Select the category that matches the actual server, not the number of websites you intend to host.

Check compatibility before installation

Record the operating system and review current cPanel requirements. A fresh installation and migration from an existing panel are different tasks. Confirm the supported route before altering a working server.

Review what is included

The LicenseCage package includes unlimited cPanel accounts and additional tools listed on the product page. Check those inclusions before buying separate installer, website-builder or supporting licenses.

Understand activation

This service uses the LicenseCage third-party, shared licensing system. It is not a direct publisher purchase. Review the terms and use the cPanel instructions in our documentation; ask first if you require a particular publisher entitlement.

A practical example

A VPS plan and a dedicated plan identify the server environment, not how much CPU, memory or storage the customer receives. Before ordering, confirm whether the machine is virtualized and what the selected licensing service requires. An account label such as cloud server is not enough if the provider's technical description is unclear.

Checks to make

  • Confirm the actual virtualization or dedicated-server environment with the hosting provider.
  • Check the current supported operating system and installation prerequisites.
  • Inventory existing panel data before deciding whether a clean installation is needed.
  • Choose the matching server type under both monthly and annual billing.

Making the decision

Use the cPanel product page to compare the same server type across billing periods. The annual discount changes the payment period, not the machine classification. If compatibility remains uncertain, resolve it with the provider and LicenseCage before changing a server that already hosts customer data.
